Once a title shows up in the Monroe County online catalog, you can put in a REQUEST for that item. The item usually isn’t in your local library, yet, but it will be soon. If you’ve already requested it, you’ll be among the first patrons to check it out.
Before you try to put in any REQUESTS, be sure to click on the MY ACCOUNT tab on the SEARCH page. Enter your library card barcode (the number is on the back of the card, it starts out with the numerals 29072), and then SEARCH for the titles you want.
How to understand the listing below:
* Column 1 = Call No. which consists of:
1. the first letter of the author’s last name if it's an Easy Reader for the Youngest Generation, otherwise it's the first 3 letters of the author's last name (if it's fiction such as an audio book) or the first 3 letters of the title (if it’s a movie, etc.), or
2. the author's entire last name if it’s a BOOK of fiction, or
3. Dewey Decimal Numbers—those numbers on the lower part of the spine of the book—if it’s non-fiction, or
4. the last name of the person the book is written about if it's an autobiography or biography
* Column 2 = Title
NOTE: Reference books MAY NOT be checked out. But, if you need them, you may look at them in the library.
These items were all added to our catalog December 28th and December 29th. ENJOY!
